A Georgia Sheriff is being sued by sex offenders to prevent him from placing sings in their yards warning children not to trick-or-treat at their homes.

CLEVELAND — On Friday’s Lunch Break with Jay Crawford, Jay and 3New’s Betsy Kling are chewing on backlash over comments made by Kelly Ripa about her son being “chronically poor,” our legal analyst discusses a Georgia Sheriff who wants to warn children not to trick-or-treat at homes where sex offenders live, and there’s a surprise Halloween costume challenge.

Ripa made a comment on Jimmy Kimmel Live! About how her son in college is strapped for cash, and people responded saying that it seemed like she was making light of poverty.

Ripa wasn’t having it though and responded to a comment on Instagram, saying: “Michael goes to college and is a senior and works full time. He is in his first non-parent subsidized apartment with roommates. I’m used to getting a lot of slack [sic] because people love to have fake outrage over something they didn’t see. They only read a headline and wag their tired fingers.”

In the South, a Georgia Sheriff is being sued by sex offenders to prevent him from placing sings in their yards warning children not to trick-or-treat at their homes. 3 News Legal Analyst Stephanie Haney will be breaking down the arguments on both sides of the issue.

The judge has not issued a ruling yet in the case, but will have to do so soon since Halloween is right around the corner.

With the holiday coming up quickly, Jay and Betsy took a trip to the Goodwill to pick out costumes for each other on a budget of $65 or less. Neither of them have seen what the other picked out, and the two will be debuting their outfits live on today’s show.
